In April, the forest ants have long since awakened from their winter slumber and are cheerfully attending to their various tasks. We want to observe them as they engage in nest building, hunt prey, feed each other, and care for their livestock. That's right: ants essentially practice agriculture. Participants will learn what this entails and what benefits forest ants provide during this hike. With the help of (brought) magnifying glasses, a species identification will also be conducted, highlighting the differences to other species. Distance: Hike approximately 5 km. Notes: Weatherproof clothing is important. Those who wish can bring their own magnifying glass. Registration deadline: Registration is required up to four days before the tour begins. Further information about the event will be provided afterwards. This tour is an offering of the "Ranger and Experience Tours."
