Fairytale - "All Kinds of Fairy Tale Wonders"

Fairy Tales and Music – a combination that has always captivated people. The musician couple Bela Berkemer-Makharadze (violin) and Uwe Berkemer (piano), together with selected guests, take the audience on a journey into a magical dream world. With emotional intensity and spirited performances, they present works by masters such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Maurice Ravel, Sergei Prokofiev, Gioachino Rossini, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Alan Menken. The performance includes arrangements and original compositions from well-known fairy tales like "Hansel and Gretel," "Sleeping Beauty," "Cinderella," and "Beauty and the Beast." After successful guest performances in the 2024/25 season, "Fairytale" marks the beginning of an international tour in 2026. The Berkemer family, which has been based in Ibbenbüren since 2008, has firmly established itself in the local cultural scene. Bela Berkemer-Makharadze has been teaching violin at the Ibbenbüren Music School since 2009 and was awarded the Georgian Diaspora Prize in 2018. Uwe Berkemer, chief conductor of the Caucasian Chamber Orchestra and recipient of the Culture Prize of the Steinfurt district in 2024, has been teaching music and geography at the Johannes Kepler Gymnasium in Ibbenbüren since 2008. This concert promises an unforgettable experience for all age groups.
