Concert: Dirk Zöllner & Manuel Schmid

Two singers, two pianos, and a saxophone. Songs by Lift, Karat, Biege, Bartzsch, and Lakomy. Dirk Zöllner (Die Zöllner) and Manuel Schmid (Stern Combo Meissen) present the most beautiful ballads from the land before our time. This is not a nostalgia show, but rather the preservation of a high-quality cultural heritage. With Manuel Schmid, André Gensicke, and Marek Arnold, three top-notch musicians are at the keys, microphone, and saxophone, celebrating an opulent sonic experience with Dirk Zöllner. Manuel Schmid has made quite an impact in the German-speaking music scene with his own albums. Marek Arnold has long been a prominent figure in the international progressive rock scene and has released collaborative albums with Steve Hackett (GENESIS), Jon Anderson (YES), and Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER). Dirk Zöllner and André Gensicke have been working together since November 1987 and founded their big band "Die Zöllner" in June 1988. Sixteen albums have been released over the past 35 years. Zöllner has also published three books and is committed as a columnist for the "Freie Presse" to promoting peaceful social cohesion. The rough and the soft, the improvised and the clear – there have been several symbioses of the very different voices of Dirk Zöllner and Manuel Schmid. During the Corona pandemic, the two, along with André Gensicke, released a living room concert featuring the aforementioned songs. On this tour, this interplay will be made live and musically deepened.
