The tour of the living and working places of the prisoners from the satellite camps of the Neuengamme concentration camp at Porta Westfalica offers an in-depth engagement with the history of National Socialism. The guided tour begins at the former Hotel Kaiserhof, the first satellite camp of Neuengamme in Barkhausen, and continues over the Weser Bridge to the workplaces at Jakobsberg. A highlight is the visit to the forecourt of the former underground facility "Dachs I"; however, entering the tunnel complex is not possible. The tour ends at the memorial on Michelsohn-Platz in Hausberge. Participants receive comprehensive information about the three satellite camps where prisoners were forced into forced labor under inhumane conditions. The guides from the memorial explain the historical contexts and shed light on the individual fates of the incarcerated. Before and after the tour, there is an opportunity to visit the outdoor area of the exhibition "At the End of the Tunnel, No Light"; the container area opens after the tour. Due to the nature of the paths, it is recommended to be sure-footed and to wear appropriate footwear.
