ART AND CULTURE DAY

The Wassenberg Art and Culture Day is an outstanding event that takes place annually around the historic Burgberg. This event combines tradition with contemporary artistic impulses and attracts art and culture enthusiasts from the entire region. Visitors can expect a diverse mix of established highlights and innovative contributions from various art forms, accompanied by a versatile musical program. In the tent city at the foot of the castle, artists present their works in a variety of styles. Along the parks and pathways, one encounters sculptures, ceramic art, as well as jewelry and textile design – created by creative minds passionate about their art. Natural installations harmoniously blend into the surroundings and invite visitors to linger. For those who want to be active themselves, there are numerous participatory activities that encourage creative expression. Special exhibitions in the historic keep and at the Hotel Burg Wassenberg by Savio offer insights into paintings, drawings, photographs, and sculptures by renowned artists. Literary performances in the White Salon of the castle complement the program. Musically, the event is enriched by the Berlin trio Hälm, which creates a special atmosphere with Nordic folk music. The galleries and studios in the city center also open their doors, providing space for personal encounters with the artists. Admission to the Art and Culture Day is free, and provisions for refreshments are taken care of.
