ART AND CULTURE DAY

The Art and Culture Day in Wassenberg is an outstanding event that attracts art and culture enthusiasts from the entire region every year. On June 1, 2025, the historic Burgberg will transform from 12:00 to 18:00 into a vibrant center of creative expression. The event begins with the official opening by Mayor Marcel Maurer on the NEW stage at the Heckentheater. Following this, the Berlin trio "Hälm" will create a special musical atmosphere with Nordic folk sounds. In the tent city at the foot of the castle, artists will present their works in a variety of styles. Along the parks and pathways, visitors will encounter impressive sculptures made from different materials. Ceramic, textile, and jewelry art will complement the offerings. Numerous hands-on activities invite everyone to get creative themselves. Special exhibitions will take place in the Bergfried and at the Hotel Burg Wassenberg by Savio. In the Bergfried, the exhibition "Connected in Doubt" will be shown – a collaborative project by seven members of the Neersen Artists' Guild, combining painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture. At the Hotel Burg Wassenberg by Savio, works by Jutta Musiol-Savio will be displayed in the fireplace room, while the Burgsaal will feature Dutch artists. In the White Salon of Burg Wassenberg, the Bücherkiste Wassenberg will present a literary program. Starting at 14:00, the author group "Schreibgut" will read their own short stories and poetry. From 15:30, gallery owner Klaus Noack will recite poems from his collection "The Red Thread," accompanied by Eckard Krause on piano. The city center also invites art enjoyment: The Leo Küppers House, the art studio of Georg Kohlen, and the studio "Tat.Ort" will open their doors. In the foyer of the Old Town Hall, the artists from the Atelieretage Wegberg will showcase paintings and objects. Admission to the Art and Culture Day is free, and refreshments will be provided. A day when art connects – for all generations.
