Special exhibition "In Real? – Virtual Encounter with Witnesses of the Nazi Era"

The project by the Brandenburg Society for Culture and History makes the narratives of Holocaust survivors digitally accessible and creates new spaces for remembrance and dialogue. A Virtual Reality application for an exhibition was developed as a joint project from raw data of volumetrically recorded interviews with the last witnesses of the Nazi era, which are available in the archive of the Babelsberg Konrad Wolf Film University. Workshops open up new ways for young people and adults to engage with the Nazi era and to meet with witnesses from that time. The exhibition analyzes and conveys the potentials and limitations that virtual reality offers for historical education and cultures of remembrance.
