Literary-musical presentation about Eva Zeller

Eva Zeller, born in 1923, wrote about the Protestant poet Paul Gerhardt as early as 1989. Bishop Wolfgang Huber judged that a kind of dialogue with the great hymn writer had emerged, 20 years later. In 2011, she published another collection of poems referencing Paul Gerhardt's work. Eva Zeller lived in East Germany until 1958, then spent six years in present-day Namibia before moving to West Germany. In addition to a number of poetry collections, she has published children's books, novels, short stories, radio plays, and essays. Among numerous other awards, she received the Paul Gerhardt Prize from the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany in 2007. Pastor Susanne Weichenhan explores the works of both, accompanied on the organ by Johannes Leonardy, in an event for the Paul Gerhardt Memorial Year 2026. More information: Annual Program 2026.
