With its program "20th Century Trombones," the trombone quartet "Slide Area" focuses on American music from the 20th century. This includes not only original compositions for trombone quartet from North and South America but also arrangements of well-known melodies, such as those from Bernstein's West Side Story and various film scores. Despite the narrowly defined programmatic framework, the ensemble presents a sonically and stylistically diverse spectrum.
