The visitor mine "Grube Wohlfahrt" in Hellenthal-Rescheid offers daily guided tours through the historic "Deep Tunnel." These tours, lasting about 1.5 hours, provide an authentic insight into the working world of the Eifel miners. Visitors can admire over 100-year-old carvings and learn more about the geological history of the Eifel region. Due to the constant temperature of 8°C underground, wearing warm clothing and sturdy footwear is recommended. Customized tours for groups of eight or more can be arranged by prior appointment. The mine is open year-round, except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
