Exhibition: "Biodiversity & Upcycling"

The exhibition "Biodiversity & Upcycling" at the Schleiden Town Hall showcases the creative works of students from the Johannes-Sturmius-Gymnasium and the Municipal Secondary School of Schleiden. Through various artistic techniques, the young artists engage with the themes of biodiversity and sustainable resource use. The works include large-format collaborative collages, text images of regional habitats, advertising posters for species protection, and montage sculptures of insects. Additionally, linocuts of beetles and butterflies, as well as still life paintings inspired by the naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian, were created. The art club of the secondary school, under the guidance of Irene Lösener, worked with found objects to highlight the importance of resource conservation. The exhibition invites visitors to experience the diversity of nature through the eyes of the students and to reflect on the protection of biodiversity.
