"The 13 Months" is considered one of the most romantic and idyllic works of Erich Kästner, characteristic of his later creative period. This cycle of poems was created in the 1950s. The year is small and still lies in the cradle... And not only does nature bloom and fade, but humanity also has its troubles. The little year dreams of peace. Or is it war? Love even outlasts the noisy holiday people, and shooting stars gently fall into nowhere, like tears without sorrow. The year grows old and knows its last day. Thus, the months shape the view of the outside and the inside. But: those who are satisfied with twelve cannot be helped! Julia Boegershausen and Björn Bewerich present this unknown, distinctive work by Erich Kästner in 13 poem-songs, which were set to music by composer Manfred Schmitz for Gisela May, bringing the writer Kästner to life with his childhood in his pocket, his love for developments, and his questions about morality. Additional texts by this contentious writer will stretch the evening into a social and political dimension that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of relevance. Text: Erich Kästner | Music: Manfred Schmitz | Vocals: Julia Boegershausen | Piano: Björn Bewerich | Direction: Andreas Rüdiger
