The extraordinary painter Theo von Brockhusen (1882–1919) created his vividly colored landscapes primarily at Schwielowsee near Potsdam. The monographic exhibition dedicated to him also introduces fellow artists and companions of Brockhusen who established modern art in Berlin and Brandenburg. Why was a free artists' association founded in Berlin, which included Theo von Brockhusen, Käthe Kollwitz, Max Liebermann, and Karl Hagemeister? What were their artistic intentions in representing "colors in light"? A painterly journey through Europe invites you into Brockhusen's light-filled world of images.
