GUIDED TOUR: What happens to a painting before it steps into the light of the exhibition? Often, the conservation and restoration work is hardly visible to visitors and goes almost unnoticed when there is no direct comparison of before and after. This tour opens the curtain to what happens behind the scenes: Learn how works by Brockhuesen have been prepared for the exhibition through restoration and how they are protected during the exhibition to preserve the art for future generations. The tour will also specifically address Brockhuesen's painting technique. What effects does his method of applying differently colored brushstrokes in close succession, next to and on top of each other, have? Join diploma conservator Oliver Wenske in examining the fine details in Brockhuesen's works.
