Historical park meets wild nature – Autumn hike in Reuthen

The autumn hike around Reuthen combines the elegance of a historic castle park with the pristine forest landscape of the Muskau Folded Landscape. The circular route begins in the largest landscape park of the Spree-Neiße district, which unfolds a special atmosphere in October with its old tree population. The park was designed about 150 years ago by the Berlin landscape designer Wilhelm Perring and is considered a gem of garden history. The approximately 8-kilometer tour then leads along unpaved paths through colorful deciduous and mixed forests. Along the route, the characteristic geological folds of the region become visible, giving this landscape its name. At the same time, diverse habitats for plants and animals open up. Tranquility, spaciousness, and autumnal moods characterize this nature-oriented hike.
