A performance by Jonas Rangott Bürgerbühne at the Kleist Forum A room, scarred from ceiling to floor. Somewhere in there, a child looks at themselves in the mirror and begins to cry; next to them, the angel has fallen from heaven. Between maternal love and the first watercolor set, the glass bone shatters on the schoolyard. The brush cannot replace eyes, and love must be risked. In the search for love, acceptance, belonging, and the detachment from gender identities, the performance "Stay Ugly" explores body dysmorphia, transformation, and body positivity. "How can I inhabit a body that does not belong to me, in a society where I do not fit?" SHALL I STAY UGLY?
