A musical encounter of two cultures: Inspired by Clara and Robert Schumann's journey to Russia, a program unfolds that tells of longing, farewell, and wanderlust. German Romanticism meets Russian art song: Mendelssohn Bartholdy, the Schumanns, and other representatives resonate alongside Rachmaninoff and others in a dialogue between familiar and exotic sound worlds. Complemented by rarely heard compositions, this evening is filled with poetic intensity and musical discoveries. Cast: Sarah Kollé soprano, Vincent Wilke baritone, Anastasia Grishutina piano.
