Roland Jankowsky: When Overbeck Comes

For many years, Jankowsky has been known from various TV formats. When time allows, he occasionally finds himself back on stage. It is not least his sometimes somewhat peculiar Commissioner Overbeck that has elevated the ZDF series "Wilsberg" to cult status, despite the many pitfalls he falls into. However, in his reading, he makes sure to avoid these. Equipped with years of experience as a radio presenter and reader, Roland Jankowsky performs "criminal" short stories. His "alter ego" also seems to be present in this genre, sitting "uninvited" at the reading table and commenting on the presentation with original body language, occasional cross-references, and witticisms. A subtle, very entertaining interplay between reader and actor develops, making the reading a winking, fun experience. Jankowsky's crime reading won the audience award Golden Berta at the Eifel Culture Days in 2016.
