Many plants contain saponins, a secondary plant substance that forms a stable foam in water. Despite the name "Sapo" (Latin for soap), it is not soap in the strict sense; however, saponins exhibit an astonishing washing effect. In the workshop, we will learn about various plant-based detergents, including the local soap nuts – the horse chestnut. We will also explore ivy and soapwort, from which we will make a washing solution that everyone can then try out at home in peace. Minimum number of participants: 6 people.
