The water tower built in 1901 shapes the cityscape of Lippstadt and was decommissioned in 1977. Since 2013, this industrial monument has been accessible to the public. Inside, visitors can expect an impressive light artwork by Jan-Peter Sonntag: a seemingly infinitely ascending column of light, which, in combination with a sound installation and the unique architecture of the tower, creates an immersive total work of art. Additionally, interested individuals can gain insights into the historical functioning of the water tower and the development of Lippstadt's water management.
