From 6 PM, people of all ages are invited to the Bat Night at Doberlug Castle. At various games and puzzle stations, participants will dive into the exciting world of these secretive flying artists. The highlight of the evening is a hike where different habitats of bats will be observed, and with the help of bat detectors, their high-frequency calls, which are otherwise inaudible to humans, will be made audible. One station on the hike will feature a net capture, where bat expert Maik Korreng will allow participants to observe him as he identifies the bats living in the Buchwald nature reserve. In addition to curiosity, attendees should bring weatherproof clothing, a flashlight, and possibly insect repellent.
