Silent Hour

The appointment on January 9th is canceled due to weather conditions! 750 years ago, the Cistercian monastery in Chorin was established as a place of tranquility. Even though the time of the monks here is long over, the special atmosphere still helps one feel cared for and to gain trust. The Silent Hour is a time of silence that takes place every second Friday of the month. Occasionally, musical guests introduce the Silent Hour to enhance the experience of silence. The evening atmosphere in the former monastery complex in Chorin provides a fitting setting to let thoughts unwind. Spending an hour in silence can be a challenge, but it can also become a reflective time in which the mind calms down or a single thought can receive special attention. It is a unique experience when one does not feel alone in this. You will be welcomed at 7:00 PM (6:00 PM during winter time) at the main entrance of the Chorin Monastery. After a brief thought-provoking impulse, you will be released into the time of silence. Choose a spot or wander through the rooms of the former cloister.
