The water tower built in 1901 shapes the cityscape of Lippstadt and was decommissioned in 1977. Since 2013, this industrial monument has been open to the public. Inside, visitors can expect to see an impressive light artwork by Jan-Peter Sonntag: a seemingly infinitely ascending column of light, which, combined with a sound installation and the unique architecture of the tower, creates an immersive total work of art. Additionally, those interested can gain insights into the historical functioning of the water tower and the development of Lippstadt's water management.
