The Passion of St. John by Johann Sebastian Bach

A project choir from the Niederlausitz church district will perform the St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach. Under the direction of church music director Andreas Jaeger and Johannes Leonardy, 80 singers will present this significant work. The performance will be accompanied by the Chamber Philharmonic Berlin-Brandenburg, which consists of musicians from Berlin and Brandenburg and is conducted by Wolfram Korr. Renowned artists such as Nadja Merzyn (soprano), Dörthe Haring (alto), Shimon Yoshida (tenor), Philipp Kaven (bass), and Ingo Witzke (bass) have been engaged as soloists. The St. John Passion is considered a musical world heritage and will be performed as part of the Paul Gerhardt Year 2026. The performance is one of the musical highlights of the year.
