Theater: "Solo Sunny"

The State Theaters of Saxony are guests. Sunny seems to have made it and fulfilled her dream: she makes music and can live off her singing. In the past, she worked in production alongside her friend Christine, but now people want to hear her voice. She is beautiful, and some admirers are allowed to come home with her overnight, but without breakfast, and she has to fend off some admirers. Harry, the taxi driver, for example, is very much in love with Sunny. Her bandmate Norbert sees himself as the best man for her and becomes aggressive when she rejects him. She herself loses her heart to the philosopher Ralph, and the band falls apart. Back in production, the colorful Sunny cannot stand it and fights for her dream of music. The GDR film classic by Konrad Wolf and Wolfgang Kohlhaase from 1980 will be staged during the 2025/26 season of the State Theaters of Saxony. The star-studded and award-winning film took its audience to a Berlin that no longer exists today, and the stage adaptation brings familiar elements to life while discovering new ones – of course, with plenty of music.
