The actress, director, and author Blanche Kommerell has been living in Görlitz for several years. She will read from her book "I Am a Child of Love" and unpublished poems at our event. She achieved her acting breakthrough in 1962 as Little Red Riding Hood in the eponymous DEFA film. A few years later (1974), she and her mother Ruth Kommerell appeared in the film "...damn, I am an adult," based on the book "The Giant in Paradise" by Joachim Nowotny. This film was shot in our region. Blanche Kommerell has published several books with different publishers. In 2008, she received the German Language Prize from the Henning Kaufmann Foundation.
