Big Garden Day in Wanninchen: Seed and Plant Exchange Fair for Nature-Friendly Oases
On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center will be entirely dedicated to nature-friendly gardening. Together with network partners from the Lower Lusatian Land Ridge Nature Park, a program has been put together that combines solid knowledge, practical exchange, and regional delights.
Exchange and Participation Activities
The centerpiece of the day is the seed and plant exchange fair. Here, gardening enthusiasts have the opportunity to swap their own seeds as well as native and original plants. Various information booths invite visitors to engage in interactive offerings, tasting, and crafting. A highlight of the day is the herb walk, where a staff member from the Heinz Sielmann Foundation shares knowledge about garden and wild herbs that can enrich the menu.
Advice for Your Own Nature Oasis
For those who want to enhance their garden ecologically, the nature park administration offers comprehensive advice on nature-friendly gardening. Interested parties can also find out how to officially designate their green space as a "nature garden."
Expert Knowledge and Culinary Delights
Visitors can also look forward to guided herb walks and informative lectures on gardening and nature conservation. Culinary offerings: The nature park partner Gut Ogrosen will provide delicious regional products for the guests' enjoyment.
