Herb Walk to Evening (B)read: Discovering the Healthy Cuisine of Nature
Wild herbs can be found far beyond the boundaries of cultivated beds and enrich the local flora in many ways. On Thursday, May 7, Sielmann's Nature Landscape Wanninchen invites you to a special excursion in the early evening hours. Under the expert guidance of staff from the Heinz Sielmann Foundation, participants will gain in-depth knowledge about foraging and using wild herbs during a guided tour of the area.
Experiencing Nature and Expert Identification
The focus of the walk is on the safe recognition of edible plants using all the senses. Participants will deepen their understanding of the specific properties and botanical characteristics of herbs to enable safe identification in everyday life. Before the walk begins, there is also a warm invitation to visit the exhibition rooms of the center and to get in the mood for the themed evening.
Joint Preparation and Tasting
After foraging, the practical processing of cultivated and wild herbs follows. In a communal setting, the fresh ingredients will be transformed into delicious dishes, which will then be enjoyed together as "Evening (B)read." This culinary conclusion provides space for professional exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.
