Small Three-Lake Tour: Nature in the Twilight Transition
The enchanting silence of twilight creates the ideal atmosphere to relax into the evening and unravel the secrets of local nature. On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, this three-hour expert excursion by minibus offers the opportunity to explore the changing post-mining landscape of Lower Lusatia up close. In this part of the Lower Lusatian Ridge Nature Park, one can impressively observe how undisturbed habitats are forming where coal was once mined.
What participants can expect: The tour aims to specifically expand knowledge about animals and ecology. Participants will learn interesting facts about the emergence of new, nature-friendly landscapes: Understanding change: Participants will be taught how flora and fauna have reclaimed their areas in the newly created habitats - from barren sandy areas to species-rich forests and lakes of the Luckau Basin.
Observation at dusk: In the light of the setting sun, there is an opportunity for a very special nature observation: During the evening hours, many animals become active, and the landscape reveals itself in a completely different, almost mysterious light. This offering is an ideal complement for anyone who wants to learn about the development of the Lusatian Lakes and the Spreewald environment through a professional lens.

Note: As some short distances will be covered on foot, sure-footedness as well as weatherproof shoes and clothing are necessary for the excursion. This measure is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection (MLUK) of the State of Brandenburg.
