The Durgas captivate audiences worldwide with their intense, danceable music and have built a loyal international community through thousands of concerts. Since the 1980s, brothers Christopher and Benjii Simmersbach have been touring—first as "a subtle plaque," now as the matured Americana-Balkan-African-singer-songwriter-rocking "The Durgas." Their global roots in Bavaria, Thailand, Senegal, and Mali shape their sound, which is pumping, vibrant, and absolutely danceable. Away from the mainstream, they use their music for social projects—supporting refugees in Burma, building schools in Thailand, helping children with AIDA, assisting tsunami victims, and conducting workshops for children in shelters. Now, they are coming to Kulturkombinat for the first time—and rocking Perleberg!
