On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center in Wanninchen offers a special opportunity for everyone who wants to experience nature in the Luckau region and the Spreewald area in an expert manner. Learning in Nature: Insights into Protected Habitats This guided excursion by minibus takes participants directly into the diverse low moors of the Lusatian post-mining landscape. The local team provides participants with rare insights into these strictly protected areas of Brandenburg: Understanding Formation: At various stations, participants will learn how the moors of the Lusatian Ridge were formed and what ecological characteristics define these valuable landscape forms. Discovering Biodiversity: Participants will get to know typical animal and plant species that are native to these sensitive wetlands. The seminar imparts solid knowledge about the adaptation strategies of the local flora and fauna. Understanding Climate Protection: The tour aims to expand general knowledge of natural sciences and illustrates the connection between regional nature conservation and global climate stability. This event combines scientific learning with an intensive nature experience and is an ideal complement for visitors who wish to connect hiking in Lusatia with deeper ecological insights.
