Wanninchen's Wonderful Meadows: A Summer Holiday Adventure for Children

During the summer months, the meadow landscape surrounding the Heinz Sielmann Nature Experience Center in Wanninchen unfolds its full biological diversity. The week-long holiday program from July 13 to July 17 offers children aged 8 to 11 the opportunity to explore this complex ecosystem in depth. While some meadow inhabitants are visible from a distance, others require a closer look to reveal their fascinating details.

Nature Observation and Ecological Experiments

Staff from the Heinz Sielmann Foundation accompany participants across the meadows with binoculars and magnifying glasses to explore what nature has to offer with all their senses. Participants playfully investigate the local flora and fauna and learn about the interconnections within the meadow habitat. Exciting experiments help to decipher the unique features of the meadow and its ecological functions in a fun way. Encountering the center's own reptiles in Wanninchen is also a fixed part of the week.

Creativity and Community Experience

In addition to imparting knowledge, the focus is on communal experiences. The processing of natural materials into creative works, a thematic treasure hunt, and various outdoor games promote social interaction. Daily communal cooking also addresses the practical use of resources, with group cohesion always at the forefront.
