Wood is a central element of our environment and has been a material used by humans for thousands of years. The photo exhibition will be shown in the gallery under the roof. The photos by Frank Pielenz depict wood in various forms: as a living tree, aged tree giants, trunks covered with fungi, and as processed material. The focus is on both natural processes such as growth, aging, and decay, as well as human interventions and uses, for example in the form of books or processed wood. The photographs document the diverse states and functions of wood and make the close connection between natural space and culture visible. It is worth sharpening our awareness of its significance and transformability.
