Special Exhibition: "At Home – The World of Max Lindow"

The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the local poet Max Lindow for the Max Lindow Literary Society e.V. With the "FESTYEAR for MAX LINDOW," we have honored Max Lindow and rekindled joy and fun in Low German. If you want to know who "Vadder Voß" is, what grandmother does with her "Knütt," and where to find "Kükenblömer," we invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Bi uns to Hus – The World of Max Lindow." You will find the answers here! And much more to listen to, read, and participate in. Max Lindow sensitively described in his poems, rhymes, and stories, often in Uckermark Low German, the people, landscapes, and flora and fauna of the Uckermark. The exhibition provides insight into the life and work of Max Lindow, the most famous local poet of the Uckermark, and shows that Low German is still relevant today. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, March 29, 2026. On "Mother Language Day" on February 21, 2026, the documentary film ["Von Icke bis Platt. How People Originally Speak in Berlin and Brandenburg"](https://www.gerald-backhaus.de/portfolio/von-icke-bis-platt/) will be presented in the event hall at Haus Uckermark.
