Saltatio Mortis - Castle Tour - Dust & Shadows

Saltatio Mortis (Lat. Dance of Death) was founded in 2000 at Ronneburg in Hesse and is now one of the defining representatives of German-speaking medieval rock. In recent years, they have performed on the big stages of the country – from Wacken Open Air to M'era Luna to Summer Breeze. Their music combines traditional instruments like bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, and drums with modern rock elements and socially influenced lyrics. The band is known for their energetic live performances, where historical sound colors and contemporary sound merge into a unique aesthetic. Their songs repeatedly address questions of freedom, solidarity, and change. Saltatio Mortis combines music and myth in their new "Castle Tour 2026: Dust & Shadows" – an extraordinary collaboration with fantasy author Torsten Weitze – where music meets literature in five novels and five EPs, accompanied by a tour through the castles and palaces of Germany.
