Sweden is rich in fascinating nature. Hannes Petrischak takes you on a visually stunning journey of discovery: On Gotland, bizarre rock formations called Rauken rise along the coast; offshore lies Stora Karlsö, the most significant bird island in the Baltic Sea, home to thousands of guillemots and razorbills. Further north, the World Heritage site "High Coast" features ancient beach ridges that stretch through the taiga. A breathtaking landscape unfolds in the Arctic tundra of Lapland. The great diversity of colorful and unique bumblebee species is particularly remarkable, especially in the flower-rich meadows of central Sweden. In Uppsala, we visit the workplace of the famous naturalist Carl von Linné, who invented the binary nomenclature here in the 18th century, the system by which all organisms have been scientifically named ever since.
