All hobby gardeners who enjoy growing their own seeds and giving old varieties a home in their gardens are warmly invited to the seed exchange at the Nature Park Center Westhavelland. At the seed exchange, seeds can be swapped, and seeds of old cultivated varieties, such as tomato seeds, can be purchased for a donation. The seed exchange was created in cooperation with VERN e.V., an association whose goal is to preserve old and rare varieties and to pass on knowledge about the cultivation, handling, and use of these plants. It maintains over 2000 old crop varieties and makes them accessible to the public.
