Exhibition "In Color, Light, and a Whole Lot of Atmosphere - Geithain" - Paintings by Andreas Rätsch

Andreas Rätsch already presented a much-noticed exhibition of pencil drawings of historical buildings in Geithain in 2017. In this new exhibition, he remains true to Geithain but exchanges the pencil for a brush. Acrylic paints now glow between fireworks and rain veils or in the fog over the swan pond in autumn. These are intense images that reach into the mystical. A fleeting glance briefly captures a photograph. Then something irritates the eye, as the realism is merely pretended. The fine brushstroke of the painter reveals an image that only looks this way for a magical moment – and Andreas Rätsch truly captures that. As a self-taught artist, he has created wonderful images that depict Geithain more beautifully than any photograph ever could!
