And can you imagine that honey has 200 different ingredients? One of the most well-known beekeepers in Brandenburg will discuss these questions and more on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Scharwenkahaus as part of the talk series "Listen Up." The Groß Schauener is the spokesperson for public relations in the Brandenburg Beekeepers' Association and tirelessly promotes his association, the excellent Brandenburg honey, and the great importance of wild and honey bees for our nature. He is also present every year at the Green Week in Berlin. The 63-year-old carpenter and furniture maker, who sets up libraries, has been indulging in his hobby of beekeeping for over 20 years. Guests will learn how the Brandenburg beekeepers are doing, whether they are frustrated by "adulterated honey" from abroad, the state of the next generation of beekeepers, and how important these little creatures are for our environment. Holger Ackermann will also talk about his latest project: privately, he supports a family in Senegal and teaches the African fruit farmers there how they can achieve higher yields using the European beekeeping method.
