Beaver Exhibition

The Biberhof Torgau Nature Conservation Station, in collaboration with the UNGESTALT. Collective for Communication Design at the Leipzig Wallpaper Factory, has created a traveling exhibition about the European beaver to convey knowledge about this species and promote better acceptance of this ecologically valuable, yet not conflict-free animal. The exhibition covers four thematic areas: it begins by introducing the beaver as a remarkable animal, highlighting its appearance and unique characteristics. The exhibition then explores the diverse and complex relationship between humans and beavers. The third part emphasizes the ecological potential of this species, which, through its characteristic habitat creation, not only creates new living spaces for itself but also for a variety of other animal and plant species. The fourth segment addresses questions surrounding the management of conflicts that arise from this habitat creation in agriculture and forestry.
