Church tour in Backemoor

The Backemoor St. Laurentius and St. Vincentius Church is one of the oldest churches in our region. It was built around 1250 and is located in the middle of the old cemetery, surrounded by tall oaks. The baroque organ, built by the Emden organ builder J. F. Wenthin in 1783, is one of the treasures of the East Frisian organ landscape. A visit to the church is always worthwhile; the knowledgeable tour brings visitors closer to the house of worship in a special way. Interested individuals can learn about the history of the church, its furnishings, and the unique features of the historic organ, which will also be played at the end of the tour. Afterwards, a walk through the cemetery, with many old grave monuments, is also recommended.
