Historical Market Activity - Zwickau Through the Ages

Zwickau is a city with a history spanning over 900 years. Under the motto "Zwickau Through the Ages," the Historical Market Fair will take place in the old town on the second weekend of September from 11 AM to 6 PM. This popular event for the whole family brings various eras to life in the Domhof, Hauptmarkt, and Kornmarkt, highlighting different key points of the city's history. The Domhof, with St. Mary's Church and the priests' houses, provides the perfect backdrop for life in the Middle Ages and the early modern period. At the Hauptmarkt, featuring elegant bourgeois houses, the town hall, and the Robert Schumann House, the focus is on the Biedermeier era – the time of Robert Schumann's life. The Kornmarkt offers a glimpse into the world of technical revolutions and craftsmanship. Jugglers, magicians, street performers, and musicians enrich the atmosphere and events in the three large squares, entertaining the audience with period-appropriate humor and music.
