Concert: "Unleashed Muses" - Women in 19th Century Music

Innovative spirit of discovery, a love for improvisation, and vocal experience in jointly exploring romantic songs: this is how one might describe the collaboration between singer Dorothea Zimmermann and young pianist Gilad Katznelson. Their program "Unleashed Muses" is a journey into a seemingly long-gone era, into past feelings, needs, and constraints that we, as "modern people," hastily consider to be overcome. By engaging with this music and these emotions, one can sense the spirit of the 19th century and immerse oneself in the life experiences of women and men. It is currently "in vogue" to focus on women everywhere and at all times, and rightly so! Nevertheless, the artists have chosen to give the stage to two men in the middle of the program: Adelbert von Chamisso and Carl Loewe with the cycle "Women's Love and Life," so to speak, as a counterpoint to the ladies surrounding them.
