Book Presentation: Place Names around the Neuzelle Monastery The Domowina Publishing House, in collaboration with the Stift Neuzelle Foundation, invites you to the presentation of a special foundational work: In an extensive collection of place names, Dr. Klaus-Dieter Gansleweit has compiled over 6,000 place names from the area of the former Neuzelle Monastery. The study area includes 37 locations along the Middle Oder and Lower Neisse rivers. In addition to predominantly German place names, numerous Lower Sorbian designations document the vibrant Sorbian language that thrived in northeastern Lower Lusatia until the early 18th century. The names are organized by locality, accompanied by historical evidence, and explained in terms of their meaning and etymology.
