As part of the annual highlights for 2026, Willy Gastel presents the now-invisible Roman fort of Burladingen-Hausen. Afterwards, interested individuals can view artifacts at the local museum in Hausen. Willy Gastel is already well-known to many as the "Burladinger Night Watchman" thanks to his entertaining and charismatic tours. On Sunday, July 7, he will take the interested audience on an exciting journey into the Roman past. Join him for an informative lecture to discover the fascinating history of the former Roman fort in Burladingen-Hausen. Although the remains of the fort and the marching camp are unfortunately no longer visible today, Willy Gastel brings the life in the Roman province nearly 2000 years ago back to life with vivid images and well-founded knowledge. Experience what the former Roman presence in the region looked like and learn exciting details about the lives and activities of the legionnaires. Immerse yourself in a long-gone era and let Mr. Gastel's lively presentation inspire you. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for interested individuals to visit the Roman artifacts in the local museum of Burladingen-Hausen with Willy Gastel and Albert Mauz. EVENT DETAILS: The meeting point is on Sunday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at the fire station in Burladingen, Hirschaustraße 56. As an event within the annual program of the Roman Road, participation is free of charge. Registration is not required. This is an event organized by the city of Burladingen and the Roman Road Neckar-Alb-Aare.
