Reading and Concert: Even the Fish Like to Dream in Secret

Under the title "Even the fish like to dream secretly," a line from the poem "Aquarium" by Gertrud Kolmar, the emergo e.V. invites you to a reading with concert on the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. Gertrud Kolmar, with her powerful language and imagery, is one of the most significant voices in 20th-century poetry. The poet spent a significant part of her creative years in Falkensee-Finkenkrug. In 1943, she was deported to Auschwitz and murdered there. Selected poems will be recited by actor and speaker Frank Röth, known from numerous film and television productions. These poems resonate particularly well with works for solo violin, performed by Stuttgart violinist Robert Rülke. A special focus will be on the music of composers with Jewish backgrounds.
