Fashionable through the Bronze Age – An Insight into Bronze Age Arm and Leg Jewelry of Berlin-Brandenburg

With the beginning of the Bronze Age (around 2200 BC) and the introduction of the new material bronze, not only is the production of weapons and tools revolutionized, but also the creation of jewelry. A variety of new forms and decorations made of bronze and gold emerge, including arm and leg rings, bracelets, arm spirals, cuffs, and arm and leg adornments. The lecture will provide insight into the development of Bronze Age jewelry, focusing on the arm and leg ornaments of this period. From simple, unadorned rings to golden bracelets, the topic allows us to delve into the personal accessories of prehistory and thus come a little closer to the people of that time.
