The fascinating aspect of figure painting lies in the deep engagement with humanity, the expression of emotions and vulnerability, the challenge of combining anatomy with artistic freedom, and the exploration of beauty, strength, and taboos beyond mere representation. It is a fundamental discipline that trains artists to capture posture, movement, and character, and to explore the essence of the human experience, not just the surface. The images shown are from a figure painting group in Frankfurt (Oder) consisting of 6 participants (Winfried Bellgardt, Uwe Burckhardt, Marie-Claire Feltin, Bernhard Kuhn, Burkhardt Sube, Svetlana Tiukkel), who regularly meet to paint the figure.
