Opening of the exhibition "In the Forest" – Oil paintings by Sebastian Eschenbach at the Angermünde Town Hall

At the center of the exhibition is the Uckermark forest. In his works, Sebastian Eschenbach portrays the forest not just as a landscape, but as a living space of experience. Light, color, and depth create atmospheric worlds of images that radiate tranquility while simultaneously allowing for an intense engagement with nature and perception. Sebastian Eschenbach has lived and worked in the Uckermark for over 20 years. Even in his childhood, he spent a lot of time in the forest, which for him was a place of silence, protection, and inspiration. This early influence continues to shape his artistic work today. In addition to his work as a painter, Eschenbach also works as a documentary filmmaker and travels worldwide. However, his special connection to the Uckermark forests remains and finds expression in his paintings. The works consciously forgo narrative guidelines and leave room for individual perceptions. The forest appears as a mysterious counterpart—protective, demanding, and at the same time open to personal associations. The exhibition "In the Forest" invites visitors to pause and experience the forest as a place of inner resonance and quiet intensity.
