Generation XY Unresolved

What times! No matter where you look: everywhere there is division and rifts. One conflict is as old as humanity itself: old against young, young against old. But it's not just them clashing mercilessly. Baby boomers rail against Generation Z, traditionalists can't relate to millennials, and the youngest Generation Alpha is desperate because they don't even know who they are supposed to be against yet. And some wonder: Which generation am I actually part of? What if I like to wear beige at 18 and think Horst Lichter is great? What if I’m making TikTok videos and playing first-person shooters at 70? How fortunate that there are Doris and Torsten. Because these two prime examples take the generational conflict to where it belongs: to the extreme. Doris (70) has enjoyed living alone well and happily until now, but now little Torsten (40) has been kicked out by his girlfriend and the kids and has been forced to move in with Doris. And it has already been five months during which it is still unclear who of the two has what everyone today must have: the right. But as soon as the smoke clears in the generational battle, you can see here and there shared views and values that don’t fit the generational clichés at all.
